"Two people sitting in the Albert Hall get deleted."
TECHNICAL SPECS: First aired Aug.26 2013. Available on YouTube.IN THIS ONE... The Doctor and Clara plan to swap places with musicians at the 2013 Proms.
REVIEW: Okay, yes, this barely counts according to my self-imposed rules - no specific title and there's an acknowledged concert ABOUT the Doctor, which hardly seems canonical - but Steven Moffat wrote it and both the Eleventh Doctor and Clara are in character. They even sort of, kind of, explain away Matt Smith short-cropped hair when he appears in the orchestra.
Essentially, this is a short comedy piece about a techno-magic ticket that exchanges Clara and the Doctor with audience members at the sold-out proms, except it goes a bit wrong, and they appear on stage, having replaced orchestra members (no clue given as to how the ensemble keeps going without two musicians). It's Moffat, so there has to be a dumb sex joke (the people ejected materialize in the street naked, while the physics should be that they appear in the Doctor and Clara's costumes) and the Doctor lies extravagantly (unless you want to take the ejected's "compensation package" as even possible. But it's amusing, and once the actors are on stage - after the appropriate wait as the real audience looks around all a-titter - there's some fine live patter and physical comedy.
REWATCHABILITY: Medium - The Proms are always a High, but this short tale is really just comedy filler without a plot (which at least The Music of the Spheres - Tennant's big Proms moment - did). It's still more than what Matt Smith got in a previous Proms.
