IN THIS ONE... Leela fights in the Time War.
REVIEW: Well, wow. A side-story of Day of the Doctor has Leela as an old warrior in the Time War, repurposing all those great effects shots as background, and giving Leela the chance to destroy her first on-camera Daleks. But I note some new props as well, so it's not all recycled stuff, and regardless feels like a proper deleted scene from the 2013 special. We're obviously some time after the Gallifrey series, and I don't have the audios to know if and how it connects to the Time War chapters of that Big Finish series, but it sure does make you want to see a similar Romana mini-sode, doesn't it?
But then, things get even more insane. Leela makes her escape from Gallifrey (good, good) and is teleported (apparently at the War Doctor's behest) into the TARDIS (good, good)... the Fourth Doctor's TARDIS! Whhhaaaa?! And unfortunately, we don't get a post Bluray trailer scene to build on the moment, explain it, or undo it. Not that such a thing could have been easily created from old Doctor Who clips. An excuse for Big Finish to do something with this? That'd be cool, but I'm not necessarily expecting it. So it's just weird, in the end.
THEORIES: I wonder if this is VERY MUCH during the events of Day of the Doctor, i.e., her appearance in the Fourth Doctor's TARDIS coincidences with Four helping his other incarnations shunt Gallifrey out of time.
REWATCHABILITY: Medium - It certainly has balls, but despite the razzmatazz, it leaves one hungry.
