i would have rather this Neelix been on Voyager then the one we had to endure for freaking 7 years! one of the several reasons i was never a regular watcher of that series.most annoying character in sci-fi next to jar jar binks! makes my skin crawl.
by the way i'm going to pick up Kahn Ruling in Hell #4 later today. can't wait to read it.

Having put myself through the chore of watching one Voyager a day for the blog, I was left liking Neelix more than I originally did.

In the sense that other characters were far more annoying to me, especially dull-as-paint-drying Chakotay and late-seasons Janeway.

that show pretty much all around sucked even though the finale was pretty good. just got done reading Khan Ruling in Hell 4. i'll save any spoilers until after your review Siskoid.

You're kidding about that finale, right?

David H. said...

no actually i thought the finale was pretty good with Admiral Janeway going back in time, Tuvok's impending illness and the Borg getting out smarted by the Janeway duo and what not. i'm sure if i really sussed it out i could find some logic gaps in the whole thing but Voyager as a whole isn't worth spending too much time thinking about. i don't even really regard it as being part of the mainstream Star Trek universe in any way that really counts. for the handful of episodes i thought were not too bad here and there i just enjoy them at face value and don't think much more beyond that. as for TNG, DS9 and Enterprise a whole different story my friend.

My review holds my thoughts.

I never understood how Janeway got promoted to Admiral for essentially getting lost for seven years.

Siskoid said...

Oh I can see it. Getting lost wasn't her fault, and once there, she did bring her ship home. Also: Brought back a wealth of information about the Delta quadrant AND destroyed the Borg.

If you want to be more cynical: They quickly put that woman behind a desk and out of the captain's chair.
