Outside In Boldly Goes

...where no essay collection has gone before.

Now it can be revealed, on this most hallowed day, exactly 50 years since the first episode of Star Trek was broadcast: ATB Publishing will be releasing an Outside In volume just about the original Star Trek crew, including the animated series and the movies, and just like Outside In 1 and 2, which were about Doctor Who, every installment gets an essay that looks at, in this case, Trek from an odd angle - unpopular opinions, atypical formats (log entries? poems? restaurant reviews? sure!), arcane specialties, what have you. That's 117 articles by 117 authors, some well-known (Robert Greenberger, David McIntee), some obscure (Siskoid).

Yes, I'm in there. I was lucky enough to be asked to contribute to Outside In 2, and this time, had a little more leeway about which story I could pick. And someone, I still chose Assignment: Earth. Go figure. Well, I'm proud of it, and can't wait to read the rest of the collection once it gets here.

The book should drop in October, but it's already up for pre-orders at the ATB site. We've all donated our fees to a children's HIV/AIDS charity, if that's extra incentive. A good pre-sale should help get it out on time.
