One Panel #118-121: Out of Character?

From Batman: "The Return of Doctor Death" by Gardner Fox, Bob Kane and Sheldon Moldoff, Detective Comics #30 (August 1939)

This has been your out of context Batman panel that makes you think he's become a batburglar.

From The Sandman: "On the Waterfront!" by Bert Christman, Adventure Comics #41 (August 1939)

Proving you don't need your full costume when you wear a trademark mask, the Sandman haunts your dreams in a bathing suit. #Beefcake, ladies!

From Scribbly by Sheldon Meyer, All-American Comics #6 (September 1939)

Hey Scribbly finally got published! Let me reiterate a sentiment I've expressed before: I loved how he was finally incorporated into the rest of the DCU in Convergence: Seven Soldiers, and I would love for him to be a regular character in some series that features a newspaper prominently (it doesn't have to be the Planet).

From Invisible Justice: "The Origin of the Invisible Hood" by Art Pinajian, Smash Comics #2 (September 1939)

Forgotten Quality star the Invisible Hood explains his name to himself because he realizes it doesn't make the most sense, especially given his strip in "Invisible Justice". Look, it was the Golden Age; writers were just figuring this stuff out, okay?

Re: the Batman panel--isn't that Plastic Man disguised as the curtains?
