I own the Nearly Complete Fred Hembeck Archive Omnibus. I'm pretty sure Krypto makes a few appearances in there, but I'd have to check all 900 pages to be sure...

I have it too, but as you say, bit of project to check. I can at least confirm this i Hembeck-Krypto's first appearance in an actual DC comic.

I make that "Eartho" joke any time anyone asks me what they should name their dog. I've never been able to properly attribute the joke because who the hell else remembers obscure Fred Hembeck comics?
