Is There a Christmas on Krypton?

Superman Family #182 (1977) says there is. Well, sort of. It's apparently not important HOW this "similar" holiday is celebrated as to WHY. Well, we could say the same thing for Christmas. So... any babies in a manger kind of thing? There ARE some shepherds, I guess.
But really, it's about this "Stranger" 4000 years before Krypton blew up who ran around the planet bringing a message of peace and understanding (and healing powers), cloaked in a red cape (cough, is that Superman's addition or was it always told this way?). And there was this province with a tyranical governor who sparked a violent rebellion, and the Stranger intervened, bringing both sides together, except for said tyrant who shot him in the back.
And ever since then, Krypton has celebrated his brave sacrifice and message of unity, for there never was another war or Krypton ever again. Lots of capital crimes and world-destroying complacency though.

So as the holiday weekend is upon us, hang some red on the mantle piece in memory of the Stranger, and don't fight over who gets the drumsticks. In no way will the Blog of Geekery take a break, but in case you do, may your holidays be filled with joy and merriment!

Krypton's historical documents were obviously a good deal more advanced than ours. They've even recorded the sound of the general's sidearm.
What... is that a "fuh-tun?" or...? I have trouble working out the Kryptonian.
