Krypto #143: Red Dog

From: Superman: Red Son #2-3 (July-August 2003)

In an Elseworld where baby Kal-El landed in the Soviet Union and became the People's Fascist Hero, there apparently was a Krypto. The story deals with an older Superman, so the dog has long since died and is merely an exhibit in Superman's Muscovite Museum.

Missed opportunity to make Krypto a bear, am I right?

Now that i'm thinking about it, what do you think was the origin of this krypto?🤔

Off-topic, but the way I'm giving thyroid medicine to my cat is a gel that you apply to the inside of his ear. It's just like a scene from "Hamlet", except that Claudius didn't have to corner the king in the bathroom, and the king didn't run off to hide under the futon.

... although I'd pay good money to see that.

... may I quibble? Stalin's communists were not fascists. Oh to be sure, the two had a lot in common: totalitarian state, cult of politics, secret police, etc. But two very big differences separate the two:

- Fascists dream of restoring a lost golden age, while communists dream of a communist utopia yet to come. Philosophically, the two are looking in completely different directions.

- Fascists endorse capitalism; they may sometimes (often) (more often than not) place dictates and demands on businesses, but private ownership of industry is a key part of their world view. Communists, on the other hand, are about centralized ownership of the means of production; private ownership may exist to some extent, but that's only because The Party is not quote ready to take everything over.
