One Panel #388: The Earth-2 Vicki Vale?

From Batman: "Viola Vane" by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, Jerry Robinson and George Roussos, Detective Comics #53 (July 1941)

Viola Vane? Superman's love affair with L.L. is well known, but did Batman have a V.V. fascination we didn't know about? Though the Bat takes an interested in the young starlet, romance wasn't really in the cards for Bruce an Viola.

Vicki Vale would make her first actual appearance in 1948, in Batman #49 (cover-dated October) and later in the Batman and Robin movie serial (played by Jane Adams) released in May 1949. But a V.V. is a V.V., right?

Going by Wikipedia (I know, not always the most reliable of sources), Vicky Vale first appeared in Batman #49 (October 1948), appearing as a supporting character until the Julius Schwartz retooling in 1964. (She then made an appearance in 1977, and became a semi-regular supporting cast member again in 1982. She was dropped again after Crisis, but returned again to coincide with the 1989 Batman movie.)

Right, I originally misread 1948 as 1949 and since fixed my text.
