Krypto #180: DC Adventures Krypto

From: DC Adventures: Heroes and Villains vol.2 (Green Ronin, 2012)

DC Adventures, based on Mutants & Masterminds and essentially a mix of d20 and DC Heroes, features the post-Infinite Crisis Krypto as a Power Level 12 character built on 243 points, which puts him in the same league as Superboy or Supergirl (Superman, as a point of comparison, is a PL 15 character). Here are his complete starts:
As with the DC Heroes version we talked about last week, he is a dog with the usual canine limitations, but this version is more violent, as the comics would have it. I love the Bad Dog!/Good Dog! complications, but it does mean he goes for the throat a lot more than his Silver Age self. The more battle-ready Super-Dog has number of attack-related Advantages as well, most notably All-Out Attack, but it feels true to this era of the comics that he would also be able to use Interpose, Startle and Ultimate Effort (Toughness), as he often shows up in a nick of time and fights for his masters to the bloody end, usually just buying time for bigger heroes to show up or recover.

Otherwise, it's pretty much what you'd expect from a Kryptonian character, power-wise, though in DCAdv, "Dog" is the Shrinking power, at low level and always on, simply to say he has a smaller target profile and can get into tighter spaces than a full-grown human can. That's really the only Power of note. I also like that as a growly dog, he has the Intimidation skill (Streaky has Persuasion instead, which is pretty funny).

Anyway, the Heroes and Villains vol.2 sourcebook basically has everything you need to make yourself a Legion of Super-Pets campaign, and now though I'm burnt out on Supers role-playing, I sort of want to play that.
