Krypto #199: New52 Krypto

From: Action Comics vol.2 #3 (January 2012) et al.

In the New52, Krypto is reimagined as a large, toothy timber wolf, because everything's gotta be so damn EDGY.
In this version of reality, Krypto is sucked into the Phantom Zone when the Kryptonian criminals try to escape. Grant Morrison stages the dog's rescue by an adult Superman years later pretty effectively:

And also reveals the pooch had been keeping an eye on Clark growing up, Mon-El-style, as a GHOST!
I still think all of this stuff would have been just as good, if not better, with the original-look mutt, but it's something. Fobbed off to Superboy as in the previous continuity, I can't say those stories hold up this well.

We would have to wait for Rebirth to see the pre-Flushpoint, family dog version of Krypto return.
