One Panel #464-466: Fawcett Villains

From "The Second Genghis Khan" by unknown creative team, Minute Man#2 (December 1941)

A lot of Fawcett heroes, though technically owned by DC, didn't get a Who's Who entry. It's even worse for the villains. Shazam stuff, okay. The rest, nope. In the case of Minute Man, I don't think he even made any DC appearances. If we look at the quality of his villains, well, they never stood a chance. Maybe Genghis Khan the Second, who looks like he stands at least 10 feet tall could have put Minute Man out of his misery by popping his head like a pimple (just wait an issue and this series will be dead). Genghis II himself does not survive the story. He and his entire horde are caught in a deadly avalanche.

From Captain Marvel: "The Temple of Itzalotahui" by C.C. Beck and Pete Constanza, Whiz Comics #22 (October 1941)

Being a Captain Marvel villain did not guarantee return appearances. Itzalotahui is fearsome and though he looks like a statue, he does animate and fight Cap. Oh wait, he was some kind of balloon. Oh well. But I certainly dig the panel shape here, connecting two boxes with a flashlight beam!

From "The Red Death" by M.W. Wellman and Charles Sultan, Spy Smasher #2 (December 1941)

Finally, there's the Red Death who, thanks to the caption, is much less violent than he first appears. I mean, the red vapor that blams out of his gun is still deadly (leaving corpses with a red complexion), but it doesn't, as the panel suggests, blow one's head clean off! Aviator hero Spy Smasher fights him and escapes just in time not to be accidentally gassed inside the villain's plane as it heads for New York. The Red Death has no such luck. Ack!

Minute Man did make at least one DC appearance in Shazam #31 (1977). He even got some space on the cover:

My mistake. I'll be sure to use a panel from that issue in 500 years.
