Where were we? Ah yes, Koliak, King of the Northern Lights, angered the Inuit gods by marrying a mortal and was turned into the Aurora Borealis. His beautiful daughter Nelvana is a hero to the people, her brother Tanero carries his father's curse and turns into a dog whenever a white person is around. More recently, they destroyed a Russian "devil-ship" fleet that attacked the arctic people's whaling industry (horde whale oil, rule the world), and Nelvana found clues as to why in the villainous Toroff's cabin. Now in Triumph Adventure Comics #3, strange seismic activity is registered far North, enough to open cracks in the ice, and hunters start going missing. Their trail ends on an island where strange lights gleam. Could this be a job... for Nelvana, Princess of the Northern Lights?

The answer is of course yes, because Toroff's plans also mention a heat-producing ore that could be used to power his fleet. Wanna bet there's a mining operation on the mysterious island? Up, up and away - via flying dog.
She calls on her father and the lights point the way, his rays turning his children invisible so they can make their approach undetected.
On the way she crosses paths with a snow tank that's evidently luring hunters by leaving false caribou tracks. This is how Toroff's illegal mining operation in Canada's Northwest Territories is getting the bulk of its manpower. While her brother flies back to the village to warn the Inuit hunters, an invisible Nelvana investigates the secret mine.
She changes the plans and puts them back in the foreman's pocket, but she's been down there too long. Koliak's rays have faded and she's become visible to human eyes. But as she starts to free the slaves, she hears a voice...
Oh damn, a cliffhanger! Maybe I shouldn't wait so long before bringing you the next chapter!
