Gimme That Star Trek Western

Gimme That Star Trek goes western with Siskoid inviting Captain Entropy to discuss Trek's relationship with the western genre, and going deep into three episodes that overtly homage westerns: TOS' "The Spectre of the Gun", TNG's "A Fistful of Datas", and Enterprise's "North Star". Come on in, pardner!

I'm surprised you didn't discuss "Time's Arrow" at all, where the crew actually ends up in the "Ancient West."

Ironically, until this episode, I was bothered by the "Ancient West" term as well, but thanks to your discussion, I can now see the Post WWIII era in western America being referred to as "The Old West" now, being a similarly lawless time and place.

Like I said, you could argue that there are other episodes we could have counted, but Time's Arrow is what Entropy was talking about with North Star, but more so - not a western (tropes), but a time travel story (in that historical era).
