From The Whip: "The Trap" by John B. Wentworth and Homer Fleming, Flash Comics #37 (January 1943)
I love the Whip, especially when drawn by Homer Fleming, even if he so often keeps the Zorro-like hero small in the frame. With so few pages to work with, and all... One of the fun things is that he rides his horse, King, into adventures (not at all respecting the fact that there's a strip called "The King", starring King Standish, in Flash Comics as well) and uses him to full advantage. King kicks a lot of asses in this short tale.
