One Panel #853: Green Lantern... IN SPACE!

From "The Wizard of Odds!", by Bill Finger and Martin Nodell, Green Lantern Quarterly #7 (March 1943)

Before all the Green Lanterns were basically space heroes, Alan Scott had the occasional adventure... IN SPACE! He and Doiby Dickles ride the world's smallest spaceship to the stars in this fun chapter heading - it's thankfully roomier in the story.

Unfortunately, the story isn't really anything like The Wizard of Oz, but fun title.

You call that a tiny spaceship? I read a Shadow story from the same era where a mad scientist was miniaturizing himself and his minions to doll size so they could use miniature rockets to go hide out on Venus until the heat was off. Margot Lane gets taken hostage, of course. It's kind of her thing.

That's wild! I didn't think the Shadow had space stories.
