RPG Menagerie: Sweet

I've adapted things from Unisystem games, but never played them per se. That's included Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though when I look at the monster stats in those books, it makes me smile that they all have Punch and Kick as Maneuvers, no matter how powerful. You need to read the entry for all the musical stuff, of course, but the "character sheet" on Sweet just says "Alter Reality". But you know, he can punch and kick, too.

Monster: Sweet
Game/Product: Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Monster Smackdown
Writing: Thom Marrion
Origin: A unique demon from the very popular musical episode "Once More With Feeling", we're told in his entry that "Sweet" is only one of his names. I take it that it was chosen because it sounds like something a jazzman would call himself and fit his personality.
Fear Level: It depends on who you are. The idea is goofy, but are your gamers ready to improvise singing? There's a big sidebar on this in the book that really approaches it from an improv perspective (how we improv performers manage it, with good tips), but from experience, this isn't easy to do, especially for neophytes. The Fear Level rises for people who don't think they have a good singing voice (well, maybe you can get away with a random line here and there like Willow did).
Danger Level: Singing out your secret feelings creates nice conflict and could ruin your relationships, but the end game is that you start dancing until you burst into flames. So yeah, pretty dangerous, even if it's initially on a slow burn. Sweet also has some minions to kick and punch (and scare people with a phobia of dolls).
Famous example: On the show, Sweet tried to make Dawn his bride and bring her to the underworld, which kind of makes him a singing, dancing Hades, with Dawn in the role of Persephone. The Devil's connection to music is often referenced in folk tales, whether he's playing the fiddle or otherwise entrancing maidens with music.
I wonder if: He was he secretly responsible for the musical episodes of Xena, Supergirl/Flash and Strange New Worlds?
