Who's This? Blue Devil's sidekick.
The facts: A member of Blue Devil's supporting cast since the very beginning (the preview inserted in The Fury of Firestorm #24, June 1984), young Eddie Bloomberg became Kid Devil in Blue Devil #14 (July 1985), behind a cover paying tribute to Robin's first appearance. He helped Blue Devil out here and there, and guested in the 90s version of Young Justice, but it's not until after Infinite Crisis that he would find a more permanent home in Teen Titans comics as Red Devil, made half-demon by Neron. In the New52 continuity, he's Blue Devil's godson. He's killed in Heroes in Crisis, but this is undone in The Flash #791 because all things Heroes in Crisis were a bad idea. How you could have heard of him: Red Devil can currently be seen as a member of the New Titans.
Example story: Blue Devil #19 (December 1985) "Dear Pen Pal..." by Gary Cohn, Dan Mishkin, Alan Kupperberg and Rick MagyarWhile Kid Devil appears in the story proper, the promise of the cover - a story starring the "character find of 1985" - is delivered in a short back-up featuring Robin (Jason Todd? Ewww. When did they become pen pals?!). Kid Devil has been on the trail of Red-Eye, the Weekend Bandit, and is about to foist this mort's latest jewel heist in 4 pages flat. Watch! This guy is evidently a Brit, but his eye emblem is vaguely Egyptian, so jewels aren't the only thing he's stealing. Very next panel, the Kid gets whapped by that little bag of gems right in the face and he's pretty concussed.Red-Eye gets away with the pricey Star of Pakistan by gratuitously smashing through the store window. This is why you don't let little kids play superhero (except Power Pack, I love Power Pack). So the Kid writes to his pal Robin for some sidekick advice. (I'd say it's a good idea to BE a sidekick and not go solo until you've been at it a while, but he's asking Jason Todd here.) Coincidentally, Robin has ALSO faced Red-Eye and failed to stop one of his robberies, getting a giant can of baked beans upside the head for his trouble. It's comics so I won't ask (this is me asking, though, isn't it?) how the two boys find themselves on Red-Eye's flight (ha, I get it) from L.A. to Gotham. (It requires Robin to first fly to Los Angeles, then head back with Kid Devil who will have to take another flight to get home, and none of the mentors are involved), but that's where they confront the villain, riding down the alley with the refreshments cart.Hey, the kids are alright.
That said, I don't think Kid Devil has earned the right to fight crime after curfew yet.
Who's Next? A dead boy.
