Weakening indeed! Don't get me wrong. I loved half-helmet Dr. Fate in All-Star Squadron, as it gave Kent Nelson more room to breathe, have a personality of his own, and not just be the mysterioso character with the booming voice who fixes everything with an ankh-shaped spell. BUT! I really wish I knew what readers at the time thought of this more "relatable" version, currently without even a cape, so he's kind of like the Guardian without the shield, and so often ineffective. I mean, this story has a short like guy with a clock face break a bottle over his head and knock him out of a commission - so the one thing he still has, a HELMET, doesn't even work.
Cool mummy, though.
