Quality Comics are still the kings of the interesting panel layout, here making Doll Man drop on someone's head from a high shelf in a diagonal layout. I'm always happy to see the early comics artists experiment with something other than boxes and "Bob Kane" circles. Almost as happy as I am flipping through "tiny superhero" strips to see them interact with giant props.

ReplyDeleteI'm just getting back into comics after a 20-year hiatus, but I do remember the fun insanity of Doll Man comics. Speaking of, isn't it stated in his origin that Doll Man is somewhat insane himself due to the shrinking process? I have to re-read these.
But yes, Quality Comics had some great artwork for the time, at least on their flagship titles.
